LOVE SWING DANCE FESTIVAL 2019

Love Swing Dance Festival is an international dance swing and culture festival. He has two editions in Plovdiv - in the autumn of 2018 and 2019. The short film I Charleston Plovdiv, revealing the beauty and unique spirit of Plovdiv and accompanied by the happy rhythms and dances of Bulgarian linguists, is also part of the project.

LOVE SWING DANCE FESTIVAL (3 - 6 OCTOBER 2019)
In its four-day program in 2019, the second edition of the festival includes daily dance swing lessons with some of the best teachers in the world, international races in different categories and ages, evening events with show program and live music, as well as a fun walk in the center of Plovdiv.

The roots of swing music and lindy hop as well as jazz are in African-American communities in the United States. In the period of turbulent economic development after the First World War, jazz music and stormy social dances became very popular in the United States. The best-known among them is the LIND. He began his journey from self-taught artists from Harlem, such as Frank Manning and Shorty George Snowwood. The term "Lindy Hop" is attributed to Shorty George. Asked by a reporter how he does this magic with his legs, he compares the aerial acrobatics with Charles Lindberger's first overseas "jump".
